Check out this custom buttery-stub grind from my workshop. This nib began as a boring, scratchy, dry 9968 (broad) Esterbrook nib. Now it's a smooth, delicious, wet, buttery-stub! Great for everyday writing providing the smoothness of a ball-nib but giving lovely variation for extra-fun handwriting!

Nice!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, what ink is that?
Hello Jacob,
ReplyDeleteThat ink is my unknown testing ink. It's a little bit of quite a few things. I use it to dip test my nib grinds and other such applications...
I think it's mostly Noodlers Squeteague. :)

Tyler,
ReplyDeleteMy latest Esterbrook has arrived and exceeds all expectations.
Like you said, "Buttery" and still sweet and delicious.
A real joy to write with....
Many thanks!
I'm glad you're loving yours too! I enjoyed working on that pen for you. Plus, I couldn't stand to see someone forced to use ball-points at work. :)

I'm also very interested in the ink. Why do you say it's unknown? Did you just mix some things up?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's just a mix of a bunch of different things... Mainly Noodlers Squeteague, but a little black too I think. I honestly can;t remember.. :) Sorry.
ReplyDeletetoo bad :( the ink shades like crazy!
ReplyDeleteYea... Try a sample of Noodlers squeteage, and throw in a drop of black. You may come up with something similar! Who knows. :)
