Ink Review - Private Reserve Sherwood Green

This is a handwritten review of an ink that I really enjoy. The best part of this ink is the color! It's a deep, rich, dark, forest green color that really stands out among other inks.I like to use it for everyday writing and I think it's not to bright or flashy for use in business settings. Remember, just click on the picture for a super-sized view of it!

Also, please leave me a comment below the post and tell me how you like this ink color! I'd love to hear some feedback from you on the review!

  1. I have the Private Reserve Avacado (and why PR misspells Avocado, I have no idea). While the Sherwood Green isn't a bright "in your face" green, the Avacado is even less so. It would actually make me think of an avocado. The Sherwood seems like a wonderful all around green. The color is rich without being too flashy. Great, just what I need, another bottle of ink to add to the twenty I already have. Two of them are so old that the Sheaffer Skrip Peakcock Blue has a price, printed right on the box, of 25¢ and the Sheaffer Skrip Washable Blue has a 29¢ sticker on it. Ah, those were the days. ;-)

  2. Hello again Freddy! Good to hear from you as is from all my readers.

I've never tried PR Avacado Green but it sounds like a very nice ink. I personally prefer the bright and vibrant colors but those can be out-of-place sometimes.

Wow, it's probably a good thing ink doesn't still cost 25¢ a bottle. I would end up buying so much of it at that price, I'd have no where to store it all! Of course, that price of 25¢ wouldn't be properly factoring in inflation...

  3. Thanks for the review Greg. Nice green, but a little too strong for my tastes - I tend to use Diamine Umber or PR Avocado when I want a green

  4. You're most welcome for the review! Glad you liked it. Yea, this is a very intense green and can be to intense for some people. I've always loved my ultra-vibrant inks so it's not a problem for me... Diamine Umber looks like a nice color.

  5. Nice review! If someone is looking for a nice shade of green that is perhaps a bit more "conservative" (ie. for use in business correspondence), I'd highly recommend Private Reserve's Ebony Green. It's a darker shade of green that flows nicely in my fountain pens.

  6. Glad you liked the review!

I'll have to look into PR Ebony Green. Sounds very nice for situations where Sherwood Green is not "appropriate".

  7. Hello Stephen, glad you liked the review.

Your mix sounds nice! Makes me want to get a bottle of both and try it out. So many inks to try, so little time (and money)... :)
